About Our Hotel Green Tourism Gold Award
In 2004 we committed to making the Ambassador Guest House a sustainable business in all those ways we can without without taking away any of the comfort, service and enjoyment of your stay with us and visit to Brighton.
It's about managing The Ambassador in a responsible way.
Some of the practical measures we have taken include:
We stopped printing brochures that go out of date quickly and have to be pulped.
Introduced energy saving systems throughout the building - simple things like individual thermostats in every room - our guests control the comfortable temperature fro them; replaced taps as needed to reduce wasted water by 50%; installed a circulation system to deliver hot water to every room that is energy and water efficient. We now recycle 80% of our waste. We use reclaimed wood or or Sustainable Forest Initiative wood for furniture and building repairs. We employ local tradesmen.Source most of our breakfast produce locally reducing thousands of food miles for every breakfast we serve and lets you taste the difference!
Our website has been populated with information on:
Public Transport travel to Brighton including direct links to on line booking sites - Brighton has direct rail and coach services from many parts of UK and Off Peak travel can often be the best value as well as the most sustainable and conveniently. Helping our customers to choose.
